Mind The Moss Studio was founded by Lindsay Johnson, a creative, energy practitioner, and entrepreneur with a deep passion for creating calm, aligned spaces. Lindsay’s work is rooted in the belief that our energy and environments matter, that thoughtfully designed spaces can support regulation, presence, and well-being. With a background in Feng Shui, Reiki, and Sound Healing, Lindsay brings an intuitive and intentional approach to her art. Each piece is created as a visual anchor, designed to hold space, soften energy, and invite stillness without overwhelm. Her energy-based work informs every decision, from material selection to composition and placement. Lindsay is also a seasoned entrepreneur with experience building and leading mission-driven businesses. That blend of creativity, passion, intuition, and structure allows Mind The Moss Studio to exist at the intersection of art, wellness, and thoughtful design. Serving the Northeast Georgia Mountains area, Lindsay draws daily inspiration from the natural world with moss-covered forests, quiet trails, beautiful lakes and the overall grounding presence of nature. This landscape deeply influences her work, shaping pieces that feel organic, timeless, and intentionally made.
Each piece created at Mind The Moss Studio begins with a foundation of quality and intention. We use high-grade ¾” Baltic birch, chosen for its strength, stability, and clean finish. Every base is cut to size, sanded and carefully sealed to enhance longevity and help withstand humidity, ensuring your piece remains beautiful over time. Once the foundation is prepared, the design process begins. Moss and other natural materials are thoughtfully curated based on the scope of each project, with attention to texture, tone, movement, and balance. Composition is intentional, allowing space, flow, and natural form to guide the final design rather than forcing uniformity. All pieces are created using varieties of all-natural preserved moss. Preserved moss is real moss that has been sustainably and naturally treated with plant based materials to maintain its color, softness, and structure without the need for water, soil, or ongoing maintenance. It does not grow, wilt, or discolor, making it an ideal material for long-lasting interior art. Preserved moss requires no watering or upkeep and is best displayed indoors, out of direct sunlight. With proper placement, it will retain its beauty and texture for decades. Beyond its physical qualities, moss naturally absorbs audio and visual noise, helping to soften a space and reduce chaotic or overstimulating energy. This makes moss art uniquely grounding, supporting calm, presence, and balance within the environments it inhabits. Each piece is finished slowly, intentionally, and with respect for both material and space, designed not just to be seen, but to be felt.
